The idea came from listening to Avram Miller, known for his pivotal role at Intel Capital, talk about age, his life, and where he began. He writes constantly, blog after blog, looking backward and forward at once. Growing older is hard to see from the inside. The years accumulate, but the mind stays young, curious, and explorative. The goal was a single image that holds both truths: a before and an after, sharing one frame. I went through his photographs and albums, decades of them, until one picture stood out as worth making the edit real. The composition creates a dialogue between generations: Avram reflecting on his younger self through the glass, a visual metaphor for wisdom, memory, and everything built in between. The craft challenge was blending two distinct timelines seamlessly into one frame. The reflection needed to feel physically plausible while serving the narrative. Avram usually looks toward the future. This piece pauses that gaze to look inward. Avram later used the piece himself on his blog, Two Thirds Done, in a post about life in its third act.
